For our first post, we'll start with one of Drew's reviews because it's fitting for Halloween. Cheri and Megan won't read this book, there's just not enough romance for them, but Drew liked it...

I was never a big Zombie fan until I read World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks. I'll certainly have to review that at a later time. Yet WWZ opened my mind to additional books such as Feed by Mira Grant.

Mira Grant is actually a pen name for Seanan McGuire. So while it appears that Feed is her first work, it is not.

For me even a book of complete fiction needs to be plausible. Mira's approach to zombies is unique yet doesn't require you to check all sensibility at the door. The story is a work set in the near future where the regular news channels report only what they think we want to hear. It's the bloggers of this world who start telling the truth and reporting it in real time. The event for these bloggers to report turns out to be a new set  vaccines that have gone bad and brought the entire world the scourge of Zombies.

We follow the path of a group of young bloggers who are born into this world of Bloggers and Zombies. They are asked to blog on the campaign trail of an up and coming presidential candidate. There is some language and of course some blood and violence. Yet the book is well written and an enjoyable read. Even if you don't like Zombies or horror - give this one a try.

Feed (Newsflesh, Book 1) is available for the Kindle at Amazon for $9.99.
